Why I do what I do - Part 2

Since I already shared why I do this I thought it would be nice to share some of why I live a frugal lifestyle.

1. Respect - In our family it's my husbands job to make the money and it's my job to spend it. I figure I'm not a very nice wife if I go out and spend like crazy - and then tell him to go make more money. My husband works hard for our family and I need to work hard at spending that money wisely.

Another part of this is respect, or maybe gratitude is a better word, for the blessings Heavenly Father has given to our family. He has given us everything we have, including the ability to provide for ourselves. That's why I feel I need to be a wise steward.

2. My Children - We have chosen to have (and been blessed) with a large family. As many of you know children can cost a lot of money. In order to give my children what they need, and some of their wants too, I need to make wise choices and try and get the most bang for my buck.
In addition to this I'ts also my responsibility to teach my children. I feel I need to teach them to be wise with their money and the best way to do that is by example.

3. Responsibility - I have to admit I'm not super great at being "green" but I do try and conserve resources where I can. I'm amazed at what you can buy used for a fraction of the price of what you would pay for it new. I like to think that I'm doing my small part at reducing the amount of stuff that gets taken to our landfills and the amount of "stuff" that clutters store shelves and eventually our lives. Living less really is living more.

4. Last but not least, It's fun!!! - I love the thrill of finding a super good buy or saving money on something. I can't explain the excitement, but if your a frugal person like me you probably know exactly what I'm talking about.

These are just a few of the reasons why we live the way we do.
